| Steps for DivX software upgrade by CD-R |

| A.) |

1.) |
Download the file update_dvd592.zip (702 KB) |
| |
2.) |
unpack this file with WinZip or a similar program and filesave it on your computer |
| |
3.) |
You will get two files ("bank30.rom", "temp.zip"). Burn both files on one CD-R. Recording speed < 8 times. Don't put any other files in whatever formats onto the CD-R other than BANK30.ROM and Zip file |
| B.) |
Software upgrade procedures |

1.) |
Power on the DVD player with normal operations |
| |
2.) |
Put in the CD-R (with upgrade software) |
| |
3.) |
DVD player will read the software file BANK30.ROM automatically and TV screen will display a word "WRITE" which means the file is reading. Then DVD player will proceed upgrading the flash ram automatically. |

4.) |
After it is done, DVD will enter the "Standby" status where there is no display on both the TV screen and VFD Display. Only a red LED on the front panel is lite on. |

5.) |
When the DVD is in Standby mode, just disconnect the AC power for 3 seconds and then connect the AC power again. |
| |
6.) |
Power on the DVD player and you will see a DVD logo on the TV screen. |

7.) |
Open the door tray and remove the CD-R. Software upgrade is finished. |
| |
8.) |
Normally the whole process takes just 2-3 minutes. |
| |
9.) |
Pls make sure the CD-R has been removed before going to run the RESET function. |

| |
RESET Function Go to OSD Menu and select DEFAULTS under PREFERENCES. Then enter RESET to resume defaulting of upgraded software. |

| Special Notice during software upgrading: |
| 1.) |
During software upgrading, it must be under stable and normal AC power supply. Any electricity shock will cause to the unit dead. |
| 2.) |
Don't shock the unit during the upgrading process |
| 3.) |
Don't splash any liquid on the unit during the upgrading process |
| 4.) |
Don't do it under extremely hot and humid environment |
| 5.) |
Don't press any buttons on the front panel as well as remote control during the upgrading process (or CD-R put inside). |
