Disposal of old batteries
Make a contribution to environmental protection by disposing of batteries and accumulators properly. Many devices come with batteries or accumulators necessary for their operation. Owners of waste equipment must, as a rule, remove waste batteries and waste accumulators that are not enclosed by the waste equipment before handing them over to a collection point. As a distributor of these batteries or accumulators, we are obliged to inform our customers that batteries or accumulators must not be disposed of in household waste.
As a consumer, you are legally required to bring batteries to an appropriate collection point, such as a retail store or a recycling center. This disposal is free of charge for you. You can obtain the addresses of suitable collection points from your city or municipal administration. Waste batteries that we supply as new batteries together with our devices may alternatively be returned free of charge to our shipping warehouse. The address of our service center is: Heinrich-Horten Straße 17, 47906 Kempen.
Returning waste batteries by mail is not permitted due to hazardous materials regulations.
Please ensure that these batteries are discharged and secure the terminals—e.g., with adhesive tape or insulating tape—to prevent short circuits.
Clatronic works with GRS to provide free recycling of used batteries for customers in Germany. All brands distributed by us are registered in accordance with legal requirements. The registration number for Clatronic is: 59550279.
The symbols displayed on the batteries have the following meanings:
The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin on batteries or accumulators indicates that they must not be disposed of in household waste at the end of their service life. If batteries or accumulators contain mercury, cadmium, or lead, you will find the corresponding chemical symbol (Hg, Cd, or Pb) below the crossed-out wheeled bin.
- Pb = battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass
- Cd = battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass
- Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass
Batteries and accumulators may contain substances that can be harmful to the environment and to human health. The separate collection of used batteries and accumulators is intended to enable proper recycling and prevent negative effects on the environment and human health.
