Code of Conduct
Basis for the Implementation of Social Standards
Human coexistence is fundamentally based on respect for human rights. We are committed to this principle and the values and guidelines derived from it, which exclude inhumane working conditions and exploitative labor practices. Therefore, we ensure that our business and trade relationships adhere to minimum social standards.
The following conditions form the basis of our actions, as well as the actions of our suppliers and their subcontractors, to safeguard the fundamental rights of employees:
- National labor laws must be complied with.
- Child labor is prohibited in the production of goods or the provision of services. For the definition of child labor, the regulations of the United Nations or the applicable national regulations apply, whichever are stricter.
- Employees must receive wages and other benefits that comply with applicable laws and/or the practices of the local manufacturing industry, whichever are higher. The goal is to pay wages that cover the cost of living where statutory minimum wages are insufficient. Wage deductions as a disciplinary measure are not allowed. The regular maximum working hours per week are 48 hours. All additional hours must be paid as overtime according to applicable regulations and/or local industry practices, whichever is higher. On a regular basis, the total weekly working hours, including overtime, must not exceed 60 hours. Employees are entitled to at least one day off per week.
- The right of employees to form organizations of their choice, to join such organizations, and to engage in collective bargaining must not be restricted in any way.
- No discrimination is allowed based on personal characteristics or beliefs of employees.
- The use of forced labor, corporal punishment, or physical or mental coercion is prohibited.
- Safe and healthy working conditions must be ensured. The same principles apply to employee accommodations if provided.
